Living the Green Life – come join me

Home » Living the Green Life – come join me

I’ve been working on a green life for the past 50 years. I’ve just always wanted to save the earth.

As a young adult, I was already worried about climate change, as well as the atom bomb, destruction of the rainforest and the whales, apartheid……… the list goes on.

I’m still at it

If you’re reading this blog then you already know that I’m a passionate advocate for energy efficiency. I want us all to live in homes with a low carbon footprint, in order to reduce the 21% of UK emissions that comes from leaky homes.

As well as continuing to live as lightly on the earth as I can.

Which is why my  next venture is a TEDx Salon – all focused on Living the Green Life

Booking here.

What’s a TEDx Salon?

The salon is a new venture for TED. It’s a shorter, less formal event than the TEDx conferences. A small number of speakers, maybe a TED talk on film, then plenty of chance to talk with others and share ideas.

So what happens in this TEDx Salon?

Anyone with their eyes open knows that climate change is real. So we need to support each other, while taking every action we can think of.

But, we are creatures of habit, so it’s not always easy to see the wood for the trees. That’s where the Climate Salon comes in. It’s the opportunity to work together to come up with ideas for action in our daily lives.

We’ll have two speakers:

I’ll talk about my experience of living green day to day.

Emma Fletcher will share her experience of galvanising her village – Swaffham Prior –  to become a self-sustaining power station.

Then we’ll work together in small groups to share ideas and learn from each other.

Outcomes

My hope is that each participant will leave with a green action plan for 2025, as well  new friends and buddies to help in staying true.

As for me – I want to walk away with loads of ideas, which I’ll put together into a Green Living Handbook that we can share far and wide.

So if you live near Harpenden, Herts, then come join us on January 20th 7 – 10pm.

Booking here.

If you are too far away, then please send me your ideas to add into the handbook.
